Great service but mediocre salad! Not their fault though... they have a standard to it

always at the top of my list. this place is convenient, close by, and quick. i'm a huge fan of the "not so fried chicken sandwich." the concept in itself appeals to me, as i love a nice crispy sandwich but i try to stray away from fried chicken. this makeshift fried chicken sandwich is the perfect combination of crisps and chicken that leaves me satisfied everytime. service is super quick. you order up at the counter, and they always bring the food straight to your table. feel free to ask for a suggestion as the workers are super helpful! ambiance is usually pretty calm unless you're coming near one of the peak dinner/lunch times. even then, it'll just add maybe 5-6 minutes to your wait time :)

"Eat Happy!" Love that motto! Mendocino Farms offers a variety of sandwiches, salads, soups, and sides, all made with fresh ingredients and inspired flavors. This location, on the corner of Mission St and Beale St, is conveniently near to our office, so was an easy choice when we recently needed a quick and healthy-ish meal for 6 of us to go. We ordered online for pickup; everything was ready on time and as ordered. I went with: Chicken & Hummus Crunch Wrap - $14.95 chicken, hummus, pita chips, Kumato tomatoes, cucumber, jalapeño, pickled red onions, sprouts, romaine, baby spinach, Lebanese garlic sauce, mint labneh, wrapped in an artisanal flour tortilla (1060 cal) Yes, they include the calories on the menu, and this was one of the more caloric options but it sounded so good. I chose to hold the garlic sauce so that I wouldn't be breathing garlic fire breath onto others. Note: the hummus was still pretty garlicky. I ate half of my wrap a few hours after ordering it, and I ate the other half the next day. I feared it might be soggy from the hummus but it held up pretty well. I enjoyed all the flavors - pickled onions rule! - and would definitely order this again. I haven't dine in at this Mendocino Farms location yet, but it's very bright and clean and inviting. I'll be back.

First time here. Good atmosphere, clean, and friendly. Our server was Adolfo, he was good at giving recommendations and told us to try the Peruvian steak and we loved it! Will definitely come back here again!

I am always down to try a new (to me) salad place. I actually miss the old days when we have salad bars. I love making my own salads without having to buy a bunch of ingredients to make 1-2 servings of salad. Anyway, this is not that type of salad bar, but it does offer interesting combinations of salads. We recently tried the pork belly banhmi salad. While yummy, the pork belly was way too salty. The prosciutto and chicken sandwich was delicious tho.

Cheers to convenience and healthy options when you need it the most! I found both at Mendocino Farms right off Mission St and it was a pleasant surprise from the moment I walked through the door... thanks to the super friendly and helpful staff that greeted my lunch group on the day of my visit. After getting their suggestions I settled on the vegan banh mi sandwich with a side of their basil pesto shells along with one of their house made drinks, the rose lemonade. The sandwich was not on your typical Vietnamese baguette and the tofu was cut into smaller sizes which I'll admit, made it less easy to handle without falling apart. That being said, it was very flavorful. The marinade was a little on the sweet side but the jalapenos helped to balance that out. My pesto pasta salad was a super small portion and it was pretty dry so it wasn't my favorite. The lemonade was definitely rose lemonade and it was super sweet. I had the thought to make about half of it water and half of it the lemonade but then it totally escaped me. I wish I had done that because then it would have been perfect. While I tend to shy away from chains, this is what I would consider a "local" chain being that it's only in California and I would be down to visit them again and try other things from their menu. Honestly, it was the great service that sealed the deal!

It's really easy to make unhealthy lunch decisions and it's a habit I'm trying to break in 2024. This being said, selecting MF for a recent lunch with coworkers helped for me to keep my promise to myself as soup, salad, and an iced tea were exactly what I was looking for. I should start by saying that being greeted as you walk through the door with menu suggestions was a very nice touch and actually helped for me to make my decision. The salad: Mama Chen's Chinese Chicken Salad - Shaved, roasted chicken breast, napa cabbage and kale slaw, carrots, bean sprouts, baby spinach, chopped romaine, scallions, cilantro, toasted cashews, crispy wontons with miso mustard sesame dressing. It was delicious and something I'd absolutely order again. The soup: Thai Sweet Potato Soup was a puree of sweet potatoes, red bell peppers, shallots, coconut milk, lime, Thai red curry, ginger, lemongrass, almond butter. Also wonderful and also a future reorder for me. Perhaps I was in the mood for some Asian flavors now looking back at my choices? Either way, I'm not complaining!

My first time popping in a Mendocino farms and certainly not my last! On top of fresh and homemade tasting food choices at good prices, the service was amazing. Friendly and accommodating and quick. As we sat down to dine on our chicken parm sandwiches, Judy came to check on us. She was so knowledgeable about the biz and the source of food, as she suggested we grab a kids meal for my 9 month old as she saw us sharing pieces of our chicken with her. She also treated us to cookies! The food was fresh and tasted like I was eating in my mom's kitchen. Excited to have found a healthy to go spot in SoCal- adding to my list!

Located in the heart of the "work lunch" in SF (FiDi), this Mendo is a delightful haven for locals seeking a refreshing twist on traditional sandwiches and salads. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately drawn to the vibrant atmosphere and welcoming ambiance. The modern yet cozy decor exudes warmth, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed eating experience. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles, and I think there's a secret to getting the cashier to ding the cowbell.... ;) Mendo commonly gets flak for being a middle-end work-lunch place, but I really think that stems from it being too good and consequently "overfrequented." For example, I generally opt for their signature "Not So Fried" Chicken Sandwich; because the first time I had it it exceeded my expectations in every way. The chicken is tender and flavorful, complemented by crisp slaw, tangy pickles, and a zesty herb aioli, all sandwiched between freshly baked bread. I still enjoy the sandwich, but you only eat something great for the first time once. Now I've been wearing out my taste novelty with the Chimichurri Steak and Bacon sandwich. After that wears thin, I'll move onto something else equally-good. I think people tend to overlook that this place's food is really good because they let the novelty wear off! What truly sets Mendocino Farms apart to me is their dedication to sustainability and community involvement. As I learned from the friendly staff, the restaurant is committed to supporting local farmers and suppliers, ensuring that every dish reflects their commitment to environmental stewardship. Mendo, you rule! I'm excited to get tired of your whole menu!
